We believe every child deserves a future.

Are you interested in helping marginalized refugee children and
youth to fulfill their potential in education?
OUR STORY
Living in a refugee camp for just several months, is one of the biggest
challenges refugees can face in their life and Nakivale refugee
settlement in one of them because it is easier to get traumatized, to
lose hope, to grow without formal education, to even die with
diseases like malaria and infections.
In 2019, some youths living in Nakivale refugee settlement met on a
street and started discussing about their life challenges in the camp,
and many of them noticed that their friends have been suffering for
so long from stress, trauma, hunger, and other different diseases and
these situations were similar to many of them. After meeting on the
street and discussed, these young people had set a place where
children and youths could meet to share stories and life experience
within the community.

A few weeks ago, people were interested to come regularly in the
place to listen to other people’s stories and gain more interest of
sharing theirs.
Then we saw that as an opportunity of uniting people in our
community and we got a vision to make these meetings well
organized, involving some community leaders with no discrimination;
therefore, in January 25th, 2020, out of these story telling meetings
and life experience sharing, we create a community-based
Organization under the name of New Talent for the Best Future.

traumatized by the different drama of war and life experiences.

B. Community Library providing a reading space for both children
and youth as this influences their learning, potentials, dreams and
way to strengthen their knowledge capacity; today a reader,
tomorrow a leader. Reading helps children and youth to explore
life from different perspective while they develop the habit of
reading books they are building new and creative thoughts, images
and opinions in their mind. It makes these individual to think
creatively whenever they face challenges and problems in day to
day life; a book is a gift you can open over and over again.

C. Sport for change and development: Building more interest in sport
for children (boys and girls) to enjoy their right to play by involving
them equally in the participation of games; sport for change and
development is a strong tool that promotes social inclusion among
different cultures. Sport activities also improve physical and
mental wellbeing regardless of age or gender. Right to play as one
of the human rights, we organize games to promote gender
equality within Nakivale refugee settlement and equal
participation for everyone to have fun and enjoy the games. Using
sport to teach life skills such as Water Sanitation and Hygiene

📷Today's class was all about introducing hand draft making to our children and they absolutely loved it.
Watching them transform raw materials into beautiful designs was incredible.
At #New_Talent_for_the_best_future, we believe in elevating their creativities and bring them to life. REFUGEE CHILDREN are good artists and skilled drafters all they need is education that aligns with their potential, passion and talent.
